C. Venkat Subramanyan

Venkat is a co-founder of Veda and has more than 12 years of hands-on experience in the investment banking business. Venkat has been a pioneer in investment banking in India, specifically in the syndication of private equity and venture capital, having helped companies raise venture capital and private equity in the 90s when the concept itself was very nascent. He has an enviable track record of transaction closures with several leading domestic and global Private Equity and Venture Capital investors over the last 12 years, having successfully assisted & advised over 40 companies in their funding plans and M&A.

Venkat is a successful entrepreneur in his own right having co-founded Mantra Consultants in 1998 (along with Vinod Kumar), a boutique investment bank based in South India, which was subsequently acquired by Ernst & Young in 2001. He was then an Associate Director at Ernst & Young, India before co-founding Veda in late 2003.

Venkat is an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and also a regular speaker on Venture Capital and M&A in industry forums. He sits on the Boards of a few pre-eminent companies in India and also enjoys strong and long standing relationships with several leading private equity Funds and their Managers.
